Bonjour! My name is Madame Brown and I am a French teacher at Rolesville High School. I am originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, was raised in Northwestern New Jersey and I currently live in Rolesville, North Carolina. I am in my 21st year as a French teacher, have my master's degree in French Language and Literature and I have achieved and renewed my National Board Certification. I am both a Google Certified Educator Level 1 and a FlipGrid Certified Educator. I also serve as the World Languages Department Chair for Spanish, French and ESL. I have spent extensive time both living and studying abroad in France, in various regions including Paris, Strasbourg and outside the city of Angers in the small French village of Champtocé-sur-Loire. I have been studying and speaking French since I started school in first grade and my grandfather's first language is Cajun French rather than English. My personal interests include running and racing in marathons (26.2), reading novels and traveling.
This site lists the courses that I am teaching for the 2019-2020 school year and all pertinent assignments and information. If a student is absent for any reason or just wants to review the day's lesson, he or she should click on the appropriate subject area and scroll down to the correct date to find links to any videos, notes, songs or other materials we used in that day's lesson. I have also included links to reference materials including games and activities for extra practice as well as links to the online version of the textbook we will be using this year.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns you may have at [email protected]. You may also call the school phone number at 919-554-6303 and leave a message.
